If you want to use the SMB protocol (Server Message Block), you have to pay to release the correct SMB port. But what is it?
Enable SMB port
SMB requires by default, only the following port:
The port controls file, print and server services in networks.
It is used in the following services:
- Windows Product Family
- Microsoft LAN Manager
- IBM LAN Server
- samba & Samba TNG
In the Samba software projects TCP is used 445 to allow Windows systems to access Unix-based systems and vice versa.
- Earlier SMB was 137 to 139 encapsulated in NetBIOS over TCP / IP (NBT) via the TCP / UDP ports.
- Newer Windows systems directly use the TCP port 445th
