The original Elite by David Braben for the BBC Micro home computer is one of the first open-world games ever and made the infinite space the backdrop of a truly galactic adventure. Over the years there have been several sequels &# 8211; but only Elite Dangerous manages to redeem the real promise of the Game: The Complete Milky Way is open to you &# 8211; grab your ship and make your fortune as you want and as what you want. If you get involved on any given action needs and can live with the fact that you can never visit all star systems in a life experienced probably the best (albeit lonely) Game of the universe.
